The “Ghost Adventures” team’s latest paranormal adventure is centered on one of the most legendary magicians of all time: Harry Houdini.
In the upcoming episode of the chill-inducing hit series, Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley attempt to summon the spirit of the late illusionist at the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, Calif.
The maze-like Victorian mansion, which boasts more than 160 rooms and thousands of doors and windows, has long held its reputation as one of the world’s most haunted properties.
According to the “Ghost Adventures” team, Houdini visited the mansion once in 1924 and notably made a stop in its séance room.
Following the magician’s death in 1926, his widow Bess Rahner attempted to contact his spirit by holding séances in various places over the years, but she was unsuccessful.
However, Zak explains that there was one place on Bess’ séance list she’d initially planned to visit but never did: the Winchester Mystery House.
Now, on the 100th anniversary of Houdini’s visit, Zak, Aaron, Jay and Billy went there to see if they could connect to his spirit, aided by modern technology – and by a descendant of the icon himself!
The team invited Houdini’s only known living blood relative – his great nephew George Hardeen – to join them for the séance, as well as psychic medium Patti Negri and warlock Christian Day.
While the full results of the séance will be revealed in the episode, Access Hollywood has an exclusive sneak peek at one jaw-dropping discovery from the team’s efforts.
In the above video, Aaron and Zak analyze the UV polaroids Aaron took during the séance, only to discover a major surprise.
“Behind this photo is something that we can’t explain,” Zak tells everyone, flipping a Polaroid of them all sitting still at the table to unveil frenetic, zigzagging white light.
“To me, it looks like a Tesla coil back in the day when it would explode with energy,” Aaron says. “It’s something exploding during this, and you’re still all sitting there. So, it’s like, is that the energy of the spirit communicating through the four of us?”
“We were still,” George adds, amazed. “Look at this. It just captured something in the moment.”
See everything that happened in their Houdini investigation when the “Ghost Adventures” episode airs April 23 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Discovery Channel.
