The Go-Go’s Make Coachella Debut With Surprise Appearance From Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong

The Go-Go’s are returning to the desert following their big Coachella debut last week!

The beloved all-female rock band hit the stage in Indio, Calif., on April 11, marking their first major music festival appearance since Rock in Rio in 1985.

Founding band members Belinda Carlisle, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, Gina Schock and Jane Wiedlin performed an energetic set of their hits, including “Vacation,” “Our Lips Our Sealed” and “We Got The Beat” – the latter of which they cleverly mashed up with Chappell Roan’s “Hot To Go.”

Fans got another welcome surprise when Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong – whose band headlined the festival the following day – joined them onstage to lend his voice to “Head Over Heels.”

Belinda shared photos of her and Billie behind the mic on Instagram, as well as a fun backstage snap with Kathy.

Coachella marks a rare reunion for the quintet, who have disbanded more than once over the decades, most recently in 2023.

In the days leading up to Coachella Weekend 1, they geared up for their festival gig with a smaller, sold-out show at The Roxy in West Hollywood, Calif.

Now, the Go-Go’s are only getting started with their slate of spring concerts. They’re set to perform next at Coachella Weekend 2 on April 18, and have multiple shows scheduled for May, including a spot at the 2025 Cruel World Festival in Pasadena, Calif., on May 17.
