2025 Emmys Biggest UPSETS: Britt Lower, Jeff Hiller & More Surprise Wins
The 2025 Emmys delivered major fan-favorite surprises! Television’s biggest night brought the house down with multiple upset wins, as relative newcomers beat out Hollywood veterans to take home top honors. Though Harrison Ford’s heartfelt work on “Shrinking” was considered a frontrunner for his first Emmy, “Somebody Somewhere” breakout Jeff Hiller scored the win instead and didn’t hold back when sharing that the moment wasn’t one he was counting on – charming Harrison himself and other stars including Selena Gomez! Britt Lower has earned consistent raves for her “Severance” performance, but many expected “Matlock’s” Kathy Bates to come out on top as Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Britt – or maybe her innie – still came prepared though, leaving a clever message for eagle-eyed “Severance” experts on her speech paper. “The Pitt” breakout Katherine LaNasa may have been up against not one but four “White Lotus” co-stars in the Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category, but she beat all of them to take home the Emmy. No one looked happier for her than co-star Noah Wyle – except for Katherine’s husband, “Melrose Place” alum Grant Show, who was seen wiping tears during her speech. “Severance” took home another major win when Tramell Tillman won for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, besting “White Lotus” favorites Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs and Sam Rockwell, who proved no match for Trammell’s Mr. Milchick. Tramell won over the Emmys audience even further when shouting out one of his biggest inspirations who was there to cheer him on.
