Blake Lively ‘s team isn’t holding back their thoughts on the latest bombshell development in her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni. After the actor and director’s lawyers subpoenaed Lively’s longtime pal Taylor Swift in the case on May 9, a rep for the “It Ends With Us” star spoke out in a scathing statement to People. “Mr. Baldoni, Mr. Sarowitz, and team continue to turn a case of sexual harassment and retaliation into entertainment for the tabloids, going as far as suggesting that they sell tickets to a concert venue – Madison Square Garden – to witness Ms. Lively’s deposition, to subpoenaing Taylor Swift, a woman who has given a voice to millions all over the world,” the statement began, adding, “This is a very serious legal matter, not Barnum & Bailey’s Circus.” Lively’s team went on to criticize Baldoni and his fellow defendants for what they believe is public bullying, shaming and intimidation. “The disturbing actions by a billionaire, men who made their careers as ‘female allies’ and their team continue to show their true colors,” the statement concluded. The update follows public remarks from Swift’s camp that slammed the subpoena and explained why they don’t think there’s justifiable reason to involve the music superstar at all.
