Eva Longoria Remembers Special Moment Where Pope Francis Blessed Her & Husband’s Marriage
The world is continuing to mourn Pope Francis, who died on Easter Monday at the age of 88. His body is now laying in rest at the Vatican before Wednesday’s procession to St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, where mourners can visit and pay tribute before his funeral there on Saturday. One of the many people remembering the Pope is Eva Longoria, who had the honor of meeting him and having him bless her marriage to her husband José “Pepe” Bastón. “For him to bless two people like Pepe and I, who both were divorced… I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. I don’t know if we deserve this blessing.’ And he’s like, ‘Absolutely. You absolutely do.’ When you met him, you could feel that energy, and you could feel that decency and goodness, and I think the way to honor him is to try to be that,” she told Access Hollywood. Eva also chatted about her new CNN series “Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain,” where she celebrates the country’s food and culture. “Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain” premieres April 27 on CNN.
