Social Media Influencer Known As ‘Miss Rodeo’ Dies at 20

Social media personality Valeria Mireles, known as “Miss Rodeo,” has died at 20. The cowgirl influencer’s death was announced on Monday, March 10, by the Mexican Rodeo Federation on social media, who noted that Valeria was “Miss Rodeo Mexico” in 2021 and 2022. “With deep sorrow, we come together to pay tribute to the memory of Valeria Mireles, our beloved Miss Rodeo Mexico 2021-2022 and Miss Rodeo Nuevo Leon 2020-2022, who left us too soon. Valeria was more than a rodeo queen; she was an ambassador for cowboy culture, an inspiration to many young people. Her smile lit up every arena, her passion for rodeo was contagious,” a translated version of their statement began, adding, “Although her departure leaves us a void, her legacy will live on in our hearts and in the memory of the rodeo. Dear Valeria, we will remember you with fondness. Rest in peace, dear queen! May God bring comfort [to the] hearts of her beloved family.” The organization additionally noted on Facebook that their sincere condolences are with her loved ones and shared, “Her light and talent will leave an indelible mark on our hearts.” The 20-year-old had reportedly been involved in a car accident, according to multiple reports, though it’s unclear if an official cause death had been confirmed as of March 13. She had amassed nearly 100,000 followers combined on TikTok and Instagram and her content focused on living a cowgirl lifestyle. The social media personality had also participated in beauty pageants.
