’16 And Pregnant’ Alum Whitney Purvis Left Obituary Tribute To Alleged Involuntary Manslaughter Victim

“16 and Pregnant” alum Whitney Purvis appears to have left a comment on the obituary of a man whose overdose death she’s charged in connection with. Georgia resident John Mark Harris died in February 2025 and his online obituary shows a comment credited to Purvis on March 3. “John mark, I hate that I found out what happened today and missed your funeral. I wish I could’ve found out sooner and attended your celebration of life. thank you for being such a great friend to me and always making me feel beautiful and cared for. You’ve came to my rescue on many occasions and saved me over the years,” the post read in part, adding, “I am so very thankful for the times we had together. My brain just can’t process this happened. I don’t want it to be true.” On July 7, Purvis was arrested in Floyd County, Ga., on charges of involuntary manslaughter due to fentanyl poisoning, according to a statement by the DEA obtained by Access Hollywood. A statement of criminal charges obtained by Access Hollywood indicated that Harris was the alleged victim. The affidavit for arrest, also obtained by Access, alleged that the “16 and Pregnant” alum quote “distributed a substance presented as ‘tranq,’ commonly known as xylazine and fentanyl, to the victim, which directly contributed in the victim’s death due to a toxic overdose.” Purvis was denied bond per online police records obtained by Access, and she appears to have yet to enter a plea and issue a public comment as of July 8.
