Aimee Lou Wood Receives Gift from ‘SNL’s’ Sarah Sherman After Calling Out ‘White Potus’ Skit
Aimee Lou Wood has seemingly accepted an olive branch from Sarah Sherman after calling out the “Saturday Night Live” cast member’s impression of her in a recent skit. On Tuesday, April 15, the “White Lotus” star shared on social media that she received a bouquet of flowers from the comedian and wrote, “Thank you for the beautiful flowers @sarahsquirm.” A few days earlier, the 31-year-old posted an Instagram story revealing that she “had apologies from SNL” after expressing her disappointment over a pre-taped skit which spoofed “The White Lotus” Season 3 that she starred in as fan-favorite character Chelsea. Dubbed “The White Potus,” the sketch comedy show replaced the cast of the HBO series with President Donald Trump, his family, and cabinet members. At one point, host Jon Hamm played Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as he channeled Walton Goggins’ character Rick and made a joke about fluoride to Sherman who played Wood’s Chelsea, wearing fake teeth. Wood not only described the skit as “mean” and “unfunny,” but she also mocked Sherman’s imitation of her accent, writing, “At least get the accent right seriously. I respect accuracy even if it’s mean.” The actress also clarified a bit about where she had been coming from, sharing in part, “I actually love being taken the piss out of when it’s clever and in good spirits. But the joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth not bad teeth.” However, she later defended Sherman, telling her followers, “Not @sarahsquirm’s fault x. Not hating on her, hating on the concept x.”
