Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson Doesn’t Want To Do Drugs After Seeing Mama June’s Struggles EXCLUSIVE

Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson is opening up about her relationship with her mom, Mama June Shannon. The reality star, who rose to fame in “Toddlers and Tiaras” and her spinoff “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” sat down exclusively with Access Hollywood’s guest correspondent Emily Orozco to candidly discuss fame and when she realized her mom was using drugs. “She started locking her bedroom door and stuff which was very weird, just because she doesn’t do that,” Alana told Access before talking about the time she walked in on her mom doing drugs. In the candid conversation, Alana also admitted there was time she thought her mom wouldn’t make it amid the ongoing drug use. “At her rock bottom she just wasn’t communicating with us, and it was just hard because we didn’t know if we would get a call that our mom had overdosed,” she said before explaining that she never wants to experiment with any substances. Despite all of this, Alana told Access she was able to forgive her mom and said they’re in a good place right now. “I Was Honey Boo Boo” premieres May 17 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
