Ariana Grande & Cher Join Bowen Yang’s Emotional Final ‘SNL’ Sketch

Bowen Yang has bid farewell to “Saturday Night Live.” During the Christmas episode on Dec. 20, the actor, who departs midway through the 51st Season, starred in his emotional final sketch where he was joined by host Ariana Grande and musical guest Cher. In the skit, Yang played a Delta One lounge employee at the eggnog station who was on his last shift as he made references about what he would miss about the position while encountering fellow cast-mates. Throughout the sketch, he and Grande, who played his wife, sang a rendition of “Please Come Home for Christmas.” At one point, the podcast host began to cry as he reflected on how lucky he was to have worked there. “I just wanted to enjoy it for a little bit longer. Especially the people. I’ve loved every single person who works here,” he said through tears. The duo were then joined by Cher, Yang’s boss in the sketch, for the final minute. News broke of Yang’s sudden departure just days ago, with the actor, who joined the series as a writer in 2018, confirming the headlines in an Instagram post. “Thank you to Lorne for the job. For the standard. And for brining everyone at work together. They all care deeply about people in the room, any room, enjoying themselves I can’t believe I was ever included in that,” he wrote in part.
