Ben Affleck Reveals That His & Jennifer Garner’s Children Roast His Movies: ‘They’re Very Tough’

Ben Affleck may be a two-time Oscar winner, but to his children he’s just dad! During an April 23 appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” the actor explained that his and ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s three kids – Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13, – are typically unimpressed by his movies. “My kids – they’re very tough. And they don’t censor their criticism, you know what I mean? So, they’ll sit right next to me watching a movie and just while it’s happening, ‘This is terrible. I mean, this is terrible! Why did you do this?’” the “Argo” star revealed. Despite their high-standards, Affleck went on to share that his children enjoyed his latest film, “The Accountant 2.” “They liked it. At first it was one of those things where they looked at me like, like you thought I was looking at you, which was like, ‘What’s the catch?’ I was like, ‘Wait, you really liked it?’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, it was good.’ And they were shocked, you know, as if I got lucky, like this magical accident happened and something I did was okay.” The director also recalled a moment during the covid pandemic when son Samuel roasted “Armageddon,” the 1998 feature film he starred in alongside Bruce Willis and Steve Buscemi, among others. “Almost immediately, it was like, ‘What? This is so stupid. Are you kidding me?’ Like, my son was like, ‘It just doesn’t make sense.’ This is this is not a logic-based film. It is not one of the criteria we used making this.”
