‘Call Her Daddy’: Ed Sheeran Drops Taylor Swift Friendship Update & If He’d Ever Play The Super Bowl

Ed Sheeran is “Thinking Out Loud”! The British pop superstar didn’t hold back in a wide-ranging interview with “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper that dropped April 9, spilling everything from a rare update on his friendship with Taylor Swift to the possibility of headlining the Super Bowl halftime show. Ed recalled spending nearly every day with Taylor for six months during her “Red” era back in 2013. Though he considers that time period his favorite memory from their longtime bond, he noted how he still treasures the less frequent get-togethers they have these days, too. “I lived in Nashville and she lived in Nashville and we used to fly to and from the gigs together and do all sorts of, I don’t know. I literally spent almost every single day with her for about six months, so I think that period of time and I do, you know, I see her when I see her,” Ed said. “I probably see her like four times a year and we do what I said, like instead of catching up the whole time, we have a proper sit down, six-hour catchups and I think that’s like a really nice way to do it.” The singer also revealed why he thinks his music and stage persona aren’t necessarily an ideal match for the Super Bowl – but that doesn’t mean he isn’t willing to give it a shot. “There was a conversation about 10 years ago to go on with someone, and I think that’d be the only way that I would do it at the moment,” he shared, adding, “I think I could nail one song. I think I could, if someone brings me on, I think I could do it really well for one song, but I can’t just, the catalog that I have doesn’t really lend itself.” Ed goes on to recall the embarrassing time he got locked out of his hotel room naked and shares what fans can expect from his upcoming eighth studio album, “Play.”
