Dolly Parton’s Sister ‘Up All Night Praying’ As Beloved Music Icon Faces Health Challenges

Dolly Parton’s loved ones are asking for support as the beloved music icon, 79, faces health challenges. Dolly’s sister, Freida Parton, shared a concerning post about the singer’s well-being, writing on Facebook Oct. 7 that she’d been “up all night praying” for her and hopes others will do the same. “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead [sic] to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me,” Frieda’s message read, before ending on a hopeful note. “She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!” The latest development comes more than a week after Dolly announced she was postponing her upcoming Las Vegas residency, sharing on Instagram that doctors have recommended “a few procedures,” which she joked are part of her “100,000-mile checkup,” adding that she needs time to recover and get “show ready” before taking the stage again. Famous friends flooded the comment section to wish Dolly well, with Katy Perry, Julianne Hough, Hoda Kotb and more sending heartfelt tidings. Dolly has been navigating emotional obstacles as well following the passing of husband Carl Dean in March, to whom she was married for nearly 60 years.
