Dylan Sprouse & Josh Duhamel Share How They Would Unwind After Filming Intense Thriller ‘Neglected’

Dylan Sprouse and Josh Duhamel’s upcoming thriller “Neglected” will have fans on the edge of their seat! The action-packed movie centers around a soon-to-be retired detective, played by Duhamel, who finds out that his son has been buried alive by a serial killer, played by Sprouse, and must solve a series of murders before his child runs out of oxygen. Speaking with Access Hollywood, the co-stars explained how they would unwind after a day of intense filming, with Duhamel pointing out that being actors for so many years has helped soften that burden. “I’ve learned how to, like, sort of dip into that when I need to and then, you know, do whatever I need to do to sort of get away from it. For a while there, early in my career, I had to do something that was dark and it would take me days to, sort of come out of that. So, I think some of that is actually therapeutic in a way,” he said in a part, adding, “You’re not human if you don’t carry some of that home with you.” Sprouse also shared how he prepared to take on the role of a serial killer with a complicated personal background story, noting how his wife, Barbara Palvin, is a big true crime fan. “I’m thankful, though, for my wife who watches – this is the kind of genre of movie that she just loves. She very excited for the premiere, and she hasn’t seen it yet, so she’s, like, jumping out of her seat to see it. This is her bread and butter. So, I’ve gotten a feeling for the vibe that we’re invoking,” he revealed in part. He later added how his own experiences have helped inspire the role, sharing, “You meet a lot of creepy people in LA, and I was able to channel some of that.” Plus, Sprouse reflected on his former Disney Channel days and how his and twin brother Cole Sprouse’s hit series “Suite Life of Zack and Cody” hit its 20-year milestone in 2025. “Neglected” is only in theaters May 8.
