Kate Middleton Shares Personal Message on Mother’s Day in U.K. 1 Year After Photoshop Controversy

Kate Middleton is marking Mother’s Day in the U.K. with a shoutout to Mother Nature. On Sunday, March 30, the Princess of Wales took to Instagram to share a personal message highlighting the natural world. “Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary. This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life,” she wrote for her video’s caption, before signing off with a “C.” Kate’s post comes one year after the Prince of Wales captured a picture of his wife and their children which was uploaded to their social media to mark the holiday; however, the image drew worldwide attention for its noticeable photoshop. Global photo agencies even pulled the picture citing concerns over it being “manipulated,” leading the Princess to release a statement apologizing. “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C,” the 43-year-old said at the time.
