Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos Debate Skipping Christmas Gifts For Their Adult Kids: They’re ‘Old’
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos may not be in the giving spirit this holiday season. The couple suggested possibly skipping Christmas gifts this year, discussing on “Live with Kelly and Mark” Nov. 20 that their family has maybe aged out of exchanging traditional presents. “Kids are old now,” Mark said. “I’m not getting them anything.” He and Kelly share sons Michael and Joaquin, and daughter Lola, all of whom are in their twenties. Though Kelly seemed taken aback at Mark’s idea at first, she did appear receptive to the notion of simply celebrating their family and Mark explained that he was open to “They get money,” he added. “Give them like a check or something and say, ‘Merry Christmas!'” The audience sounded on board with Mark’s proposal and offered a round of applause, but it didn’t take long for the actor to walk back his thoughts. “I don’t know. That sounds bad,” he laughed. “That sounds really bad.” Longtime Kelly and Mark fans know the couple rarely holds back when discussing personal matters including parenting. They’ve made previous headlines for sharing about adjusting to life as empty nesters now that all three children are out of the house and on their own, with Kelly and Mark even issuing an on-air warning to Lola when she returned home in 2023 for her last semester of college.
