Lady Gaga Pokes Fun of ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ During ‘SNL’ Monologue: ‘Got Nominated for a Razzie’

Lady Gaga is back on the “Saturday Night Live” stage! On March 8, the singer pulled double duty serving as both host and musical guest for the late-night sketch series. During her monologue, the “House of Gucci” star poked fun of “Joker: Folie à Deux,” the sequel to the “Joker” blockbuster she starred in which received negative reviews and low box office numbers. “Anyway, I’m an actor now. And I’ve been very diligent about selecting films that would showcase my craft as a serious actor, films such as ‘Joker 2.’ Apparently, people thought it was awesome,” she began, adding, “Joaquin [Phoenix] and I even got nominated for a Razzie, which is an award for the worst films of the year. So, we won for worst onscreen duo. But joke’s on them. I love winning things! My Razzie brings me one step closer to an EGORT. It’s like an EGOT, but it’s hurtful.” Later in her monologue, the “Born This Way” singer, who just released her latest album “Mayhem,” jokingly recalled how her mom set her up with now fiancé, Michael Polansky. “My mom called me one day and she goes, ‘I met your husband.’ And I said, ‘What does he do?’ And she said, ‘He works in cancer research.’ And while we were talking, I was literally smoking a cigarette.”
