Michelle Obama Reveals She & Barack Obama Planned To See Reiners Day They Were Found Dead

Michelle Obama has revealed that she and husband Barack Obama were expected to meet Michele and Rob Reiner the night the couple was found dead. During a Dec. 15 appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the former First Lady shared that they had the plans after the comedian gave his condolences to her. “We’ve known them for many, many years and we were supposed to be seeing them that night—last night—and we got the news,” she said. The 61-year-old then took a swipe at Donald Trump for his Truth Social post about the pair’s deaths, in which the President had claimed in part that Reiner suffered from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” “They’re not deranged or crazed. What they have always been are passionate people in a time when there’s not a lot of courage going on,” she quipped, adding, “They were the kind of people who were ready to put their actions behind what they cared about—and they cared about their family, and they cared about this country, and they cared about fairness and equity. That is the truth. I do know them.” During his monologue on Monday, Kimmel also blasted Trump for his post, saying in part, “It’s so hateful and vile.”
