After winning her first Oscar, Mikey Madison is reflecting on how ‘Anora’ has changed her life. Speaking in a press conference following her acceptance speech, the 25-year-old detailed the impact the movie had on her. “There will always be a small part of me that carries around the experience of making the film and the character, because it has changed my life in so many ways. Not just because of all of this that’s happening right now, but just the experience of being able to work with Sean Baker, the experience of learning and meeting incredible people from the sex work community that’s been such a wonderful part of this. And I’ve met and made so many incredible friends.” Plus, the actress revealed how she stays grounded as she looks to the future. “I just want to keep making movies and continue to work with people who inspire me and play interesting characters, tell stories that are compelling. That’s just what I hope to do. I really don’t know what will happen,” she said, adding, “I just know that tonight I’m going to go home to my new puppies and probably clean up the mess and it’s going to bring me right down to earth.”
