The singer thanked fans for their prayers in a Jan. 27 Instagram post where he revealed he was recently hospitalized, noting in the caption that he “almost died.” “My heart’s only beating like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right,” he said in the video, adding that his “health is not okay.” In a separate livestream shared on social media, the 45-year-old rapper got more candid about his condition, telling viewers he was informed by medical staff that he only has a year left to live. “2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” he said. Although Ray J didn’t give many details about why he was hospitalized, TMZ reported that the singer was admitted on Jan. 7 due to severe pneumonia and heart pain.
