Timothy Busfield Appears In Court For First Time After Arrest On Child Sex Abuse Charges

Timothy Busfield faced a judge for the first time on Jan. 14 after surrendering in New Mexico and being booked on two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse. The “West Wing” and “thirtysomething” actor has not yet entered a plea and will stay in custody at least until his next hearing, set to take place within five business days of his initial court appearance. He previously denied the allegations in a video statement obtained by TMZ. NBC News entertainment correspondent Chloe Melas has been closely following the case and notes to Access Hollywood how Busfield’s lawyer claims that his client was never on the run despite U.S. Marshals looking for him.
