Blake Lively Beams In First Outing After Justin Baldoni’s $400M Countersuit Dismissed
Blake Lively has something to smile about. The actress beamed at her first public outing just hours after news broke that a judge had dismissed her “It Ends With Us” director and co-star Justin Baldoni’s countersuit against her. Lively, 37, stepped out solo for the Chanel Tribeca Festival Artists’ Dinner in New York City on June 9, posing for photos in a summery white lace dress from the iconic label. The mom of four had previously spoken out on the major new development in her and Baldoni’s ongoing legal drama, sharing on her Instagram story the gratitude she has for those who have supported her throughout the saga and pledging to advocate for those who “don’t have the resources to fight back.” Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer Studios sued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation in January and sought at least $400 million in damages. According to documents obtained by Access, the judge also dismissed the director’s libel lawsuit against The New York Times in which he accused the paper of working with Lively to smear him. The filing also states that Baldoni’s legal team has until June 23 to amend the allegations relevant to the claims of tortious interference with contract and breach of implied covenant. Lively’s attorneys Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlied celebrated the decision in a statement obtained by Access that read in part, “As we have said from day one, this ‘$400 million’ lawsuit was a sham, and the Court saw right through it.” Baldoni’s attorney responded the following morning, saying in a statement that Lively’s “predictable declaration of victory is false” and vowing to “march forward” in their case. Lively first sued Baldoni in late 2024 accusing him of sexual harassment and other inappropriate behavior that allegedly took place during their movie’s production. The actress has also claimed that he was involved in an alleged smear campaign to tarnish her reputation. The “Jane the Virgin” alum has denied all allegations.
