‘Cosby Show’ Star Malcolm -Jamal Warner Dead At 54 After Accidental Drowning (Report)

“Cosby Show” star Malcolm-Jamal Warner has passed away at 54 years old. According to multiple reports on July 21, the actor died following an accidental drowning while on a family trip to Costa Rica. An official cause of death was not immediately made public, and Access Hollywood has reached out to Warner’s reps for comment. Warner shot to child stardom as Theo Huxtable, the son of Bill Cosby’s title character on the iconic sitcom and he received a 1986 Emmy nomination for his work. He went on to appear in dozens of TV shows and films including “Fool’s Gold,” “American Crime Story,” “9-1-1” and more, as well as his own series “Malcolm & Eddie” with co-star Eddie Griffin from 1996 to 2000. His most recent credited role was on the Fox drama “Alert: Missing Person’s Unit” earlier this year. Just days before his sudden death made headlines, Warner was also seen in the July 18 episode of his Not All Hood podcast. A Grammy winner, Warner is survived by his wife and daughter, whose identities he is said to have kept private. Access Hollywood last spoke with Warner in 2024 when he and his mother, Pamela, joined Access Daily for a joint interview in Orlando.
