Deborah Norville Explains ‘Inside Edition’ Exit After 30 Years
Deborah Norville is stepping down and moving on. The TV icon announced her exit from “Inside Edition” on April 2 after 30 years at the anchor desk, telling viewers in a heartfelt message that she turned down the opportunity to stay and is looking forward to exploring a new chapter. Norville was the country’s longest-serving female TV anchor, joining “Inside Edition” in 1995. She reflected on the milestone in an Instagram video, noting just how much has changed since she took the helm at the nightly newsmagazine. “When I started this job, Bill Clinton was president, O.J. Simpson was on trial for murder and ‘Forrest Gump’ was about to win big at the Oscars,” she said. Deborah also joined “CBS Mornings” to share insight on her big move and teased that the news cycle isn’t the only thing that’s evolved over the years. “Too bad I couldn’t settle on a hairstyle,” she laughed. “It changed every single time you saw me.”
