Tom Cruise Honors ‘Top Gun’ Co-Star Val Kilmer With Moment Of Silence During CinemaCon

Tom Cruise paid tribute to his “Top Gun” co-star Val Kilmer, who died on April 1 at the age of 65. The movie star asked for a moment of silence while he was onstage at CinemaCon on April 3 to honor his late friend. “I’d like to honor a dear friend of mine, Val Kilmer for a moment,” he said from the stage at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. “I can’t tell you how much I admire his work… I think it would be really nice if we could have a moment together because he loved movies and he gave a lot to all of us.” The action star ended the touching moment by saying, “I wish you well on the next journey.” Val and Tom met on the set of 1986’s “Top Gun” where they played rival fighter pilots who eventually became friends. They reunited onscreen years later for 2022’s “Top Gun: Maverick” where Val returned as Iceman in what would become his last appearance onscreen.
