Donald Trump Insists Abrego Garcia Has MS-13 Tattoos In Heated Interview Despite Photoshop Evidence

In an interview with ABC News on April 29, President Donald Trump insisted that the man his administration had mistakenly deported to El Salvador had a gang name tattooed on his hand, despite experts questioning otherwise. The photo in question is a picture that was shared on the White House’s Instagram account on April 19, where the President is holding up a photo of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, showing his four tattoos, one on each finger. In each knuckle there is a picture of a leaf, a smiley face, a cross and a skull. The characters “M” “S” “1” and “3” were apparently added on the photo to decode the tattoos. The Trump administration claims the symbols are associated with the gang, with the marijuana leaf representing the “M,” the smiley face the “S,” the cross the “1,” and the skull the “3.” However, experts and researchers CBS spoke to acknowledge the tattoos could carry gang-related symbolism, but the markings alone don’t provide evidence that Abrego Garcia was a member of the gang. In the interview with ABC, Trump appeared to believe that the characters that were typed onto the photo were actually tattooed on Abrego Garcia. When the journalist Terry Morgan tried to correct Trump, he fired back.
