Jay Leno Weighs In On Jimmy Kimmel’s Future on TV: ‘Let The People Decide’
Jay Leno spoke to Access Hollywood at the Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony for Chris Wallace where he honored the legendary journalist. The former late-night host spoke to media following the event and reacted to the news of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” being pulled off air “indefinitely” following the host’s recent on-air comments following the death of Charlie Kirk. Jay said, “I think Jimmy will land on his feet, he’s a talented guy, he’s funny and let’s see what happens. He may be back on in just a couple of weeks again, so we’ll see.” Adding, “It’s a comedian talking, if you don’t like it, don’t watch it, I mean…let the people decide. If the people like his show, it stays on the air, I mean it’s as simple as that. I like Jimmy, I like all the guys, I think they’re really talented.” Jay also explained what he would do if he was in Jimmy’s position, “I’m for free speech, you know Patrick Henry said it best, ‘Give me speech or give me death,’ that was the first go around with this argument. It’s been going on for 200 years and in a free society it’ll go on for another 200.” Jimmy Kimmel has not responded to Access Hollywood’s request for comment as of publication time.
