Joe Biden Breaks Silence On Cancer Diagnosis As Donald Trump, Barack Obama & More React
Joe Biden is speaking out after his serious health update. The former president shared a message of gratitude following the announcement that he’s been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Biden, 82, posted a rare Instagram selfie with wife and former first lady Dr. Jill Biden on May 19 and shared his hopeful take on the challenging road ahead. “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support,” he wrote. Biden’s statement comes one day after his office confirmed his illness in a statement first obtained by the New York Times. Though the retired politician’s cancer has metastasized to the bone, it is said to appear to be hormone sensitive, which the statement said bodes well for “effective management.” Biden’s news comes 10 years after he lost his 46-year-old son, Beau, to brain cancer in 2015. The former President’s condition received a slew of public reaction, with President Donald Trump, former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Kamala Harris among his fellow leaders sharing their condolences and well wishes.
