Kelly Clarkson Apologizes Onstage For Canceling Las Vegas Residency Opener

Kelly Clarkson is making up for lost time after postponing the start of her Las Vegas residency. On July 11, the “American Idol” alum began her 5-month run at the Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, one week after the originally scheduled opening night. After taking the stage, she apologized to the audience and expressed how disappointed she was that she couldn’t perform. On July 4, the “Stronger” singer shared a message on her Instagram to inform fans of the cancellation. “The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice,” she wrote at the time. “I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I’m taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.”
