Cassie Ventura’s Lawyer Speaks Out After Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Acquitted of Most Serious Counts

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been acquitted of the most serious charges in his sex trafficking trial. After the rap mogul’s 7-week federal trial in New York city, a jury found him guilty on two out of five charges on Wednesday morning following more than 12 hours of deliberation. The 55-year-old was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, but he was found not guilty of one count of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion. Combs, who pleaded not guilty to all charges, now faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, up to 10 years per count, according to NBC News. The outlet added prosecutors would seek the “maximum of 20 years in total.” Access Hollywood obtained a statement from Cassie Ventura’s lawyer, Doug Wigdor, who spoke out minutes after the verdict was reached. “This entire criminal process started when our client Cassie Ventura had the courage to file her civil complaint in November 2023. Although the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution. By coming forward with her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice,” Wigdor said in part.
