Inside Meghan Markle’s First Acting Gig Since Royal Exit
Meghan Markle is giving show business a second look. On Wednesday, Nov. 5, multiple outlets confirmed that the Duchess of Sussex is returning to acting after she was spotted on set of an upcoming Amazon MGM project in which she will play herself. The studio film titled “Close Personal Friends” also stars Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding and the plot focuses on two couples – one famous, one not – becoming friends, according to IMDb. A source confirmed the 44-year-old’s cameo to People and described how she was fitting in, saying, “She has a small part. She seemed very relaxed and happy. She introduced herself to everyone and was very sweet and down-to-earth.” Meanwhile The Sun, the publication which reportedly broke the news, also spoke with a studio insider who explained that the As Ever founder was drawn to the project. “She has been swamped with offers but this one felt right. It is Meghan’s way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set,” the source said, adding, “Everyone involved is super-excited, and have been sworn to secrecy about her involvement.” Plus, The Sun’s source reportedly gave insight into how Prince Harry is taking his wife’s new gig. “Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.” Meghan quit acting in 2017 after announcing her engagement to Harry and entering royal life.
