Jenna Bush Hager Reveals Dad George W. Bush Was ‘Mad’ When She Asked Him About Obama Divorce Rumors

George W. Bush apparently isn’t here for the rumor mill when it comes to a fellow former president. Jenna Bush Hager revealed on “Today” July 17 that she asked her dad about gossip surrounding Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s marriage, sharing that he not only shut down the divorce speculation but let her know he wasn’t too happy to be questioned in the first place. “I remember I called my dad and I was like, ‘Have you heard this rumor?!’ And he was like, ‘I don’t believe it. It’s not true,'” Jenna said, noting that Bush was “kind of mad” that his daughter “even called to ask.” According to Jenna, her dad reiterated his belief that the Obamas are going strong, adding “I know them, and it isn’t true.” President Bush’s reported remarks come just days after the Obamas themselves shot down all the split chatter in their first joint comments on the topic, as Barack joined the former FLOTUS on her “IMO” podcast with brother Craig Robinson where the trio poked a little fun at all the fake news about the couple’s status.
