Pro Boxer Georgia O’Connor Dies At 25 After Cancer She Claims Doctors Ignored

Professional boxer Georgia O’Connor has died at age 25, less than 4 months after revealing a cancer diagnosis. The British athlete’s promoter confirmed her passing in a statement acquired by The Guardian. “We are heartbroken by the passing of Georgia O’Connor,” the statement reads. “A true warrior inside and outside the ring, the boxing community has lost a talented, courageous and determined young woman far too soon.” When Georgia first shared her illness with her Instagram followers on Jan. 31, she berated her doctors as “incompetent RATS” for not taking her pain more seriously. She claimed that preexisting health conditions heightened her risk of developing cancer, but she wasn’t being listened to. Before her death, the boxer also shared that she’d recently suffered a miscarriage and also announced her marriage to her boyfriend Adriano Cardinali.
