Why ‘Superman’s’ David Corenswet & Rachel Brosnahan Don’t Remember First Impressions Of Each Other
“Superman” is ready to fly! Speaking to Access Hollywood, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, who star as Superman and Lois Lane in the upcoming DC Studios blockbuster, revealed why it’s hard for them to recall their first impressions of one another. “I don’t think either of us remember our first impressions of each other because it was such a whirlwind. You were operating on very little sleep. This was at the screen test in L.A., and we had both spent the morning working with other great actors on the scene. And then we were kind of thrown together as an afterthought,” Corenswet began, adding, “I describe it as we shook hands, said hello, sat down, bickered for ten pages. James [Gunn] said, ‘All right, that’s enough.’ And, then we went our separate ways.” The costars also noted that they connected further over a breakfast after they were cast, with Brosnahan adding that their chemistry read was “pretty magical.” Plus, the actor revealed that his wife, Julia, and their baby daughter came to visit the set a couple of times. “I do have some lovely pictures of me holding my baby in her little Superman costume while I’m in my Superman costume, and Ira was in his superman costume – the dog. And Nick has a wonderful video that he took of me pushing her in her stroller, where the backdrop of the set comes down to about waist height. And just below that you can see me in the boots and the cape flying behind me, pushing the stroller back and forth.” The 31-year-old additionally shared that he’s became a pro at changing diapers – even doing so with one hand! “Superman” flies into theaters July 11.
